About the author
The Hairdresser is a debut novel. Lotte Sinclair was born and brought up in Yorkshire, not far from Leeds where the main character Vivian is based. Lotte now lives in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Synopsis
Vivian was a teenage hairdresser when she first met Bret Erskin. He was a little older, charming, charismatic beyond his years, and a whirlwind of energy. A young man going places.
The young Vivian was clever and exuded a quiet aura which, along with a stunning figure and looks, put her out of reach of most young men. Bret Erskin for once, found he had met his equal.
When Bret qualified as a commercial property surveyor, they married and immediately set up a property business. Bret was the public face; Vivian was the unseen force keeping Bret in line. Totally in love she happily let him take the lime light.
As the company grew, Vivian began dealing with highly qualified men who they did their business with. Some of whom, did not take too well to dealing with a young and unqualified woman. To them she became, ‘the hairdresser.’
Now, years later Bret was dead and with mummering’s that Vivian was not capableof running their now hugely successful company alone, the nickname re surfaced.
But that was the least of her problems. The quiet wife and partner once happy to stay in the background, was not only dealing with bereavement she was also facing a plot to oust her. She had a decision to make; retire comparatively young and rich or, step in to her husband’s large shoes.
About the cover
Visitors here may want to see a little of the process of choosing the cover art work.
The covers were designed by ebookscovered@gmail.com
After the designer was briefed he offered various cover designs. Two were chosen, one for the paperback and one for the online ebook. They could be swapped around.
Then, different version of those were offered with varying colours, fonts and font sizes. There was a good deal of tweaking before and after this stage.
